Alfred Hitchcock Anyone?

As a movie viewer I have always had a hard time watching horror movies or anything that is remotely disturbing. I squirm in my seat holding my hands up to my face, and afterwords I am left with a lingering sense of unease. Because of this I have always approached watching any movie with much apprehension. However, (and interestingly) this does not hold true for any film that I have seen by Alfred Hitchcock.

I love Hitch. His films are exceedingly suspenseful with the tinge (and sometimes deluge) of dark humor. Love it! I just watched “Notorious”, the tension in this film is like a rope around your neck that is being pulled tighter and tighter. Not like that is a good thing in real life, but in terms of fictional suspense it’s masterful.

If you are not familiar with Hitchcock’s films I implore you to go out today and rent one to watch with your sweetie! Heck, even if you have seen a couple like: “The Birds” or “Psycho” check out some of his other films.

Here are some of my faves: North by Northwest, The 39 Steps (1935), Shadow of a Doubt, Notorious, Vertigo, Rear Window, and many many more!

Happy Viewing,
-Marsha Riti
